Fundraising
Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust Ltd. is a Registered Charity (No. 283629) and therefore relies heavily on fund raising to keep the pier and Toll House running and open for members of the public to visit. The pier does not receive any form of revenue support and is therefore wholly dependent on fundraising for its future on the North Somerset coastline.
It was the efforts from fund raising that raised the £3.6 million that was required to allow the restoration and re-building of the pier.
Now that the pier and its buildings are fully restored, a great deal of money is still required on a regular basis. Each year, the maintenance and running costs of the pier exceed £200,000, non of which is provided by any external source, funding or sponsorship.
The pier structure will shortly be in need of re-painting. This is not a five minute job and would require specialist painting contractors that would be capable of painting the steelwork, above a very fast moving tidal current. Currently this is estimated to exceed £300,000.
There are a number of ways that you are able to help increase the funds of the pier:

Sponsor a Plank
One of the biggest fund raisers for Clevedon Pier has been its now famous Plank Sponsorship. Since the pier was re-built in 1989, well over 10,000 brass plaques have been sold to raise funds.
The plaques come in various sizes and can be engraved with any specific words that you require. They may just be an individual's name, a group, club, society or company or a plaque in memory of a loved one or the celebration of a new birth or anniversary.

Leaving a Legacy
What better legacy could you leave for future generations than a glimpse back into the past
The future is far too important to be left to chance. We all want to ensure that our family and loved ones will be well looked after when we are no longer there to help. That's why making a will is one of the most important jobs that we must do.
A legacy to Clevedon Pier, no matter how small, included in your will, is a way of helping to ensure that your children and your children's children will be able to enjoy a stunning Victorian architectural marvel for many generations to come.
You may wish to leave an amount of money to the Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust in your will. This can be arranged. Please contact Linda Strong, Pier Manager at the Toll House on Tel. 01275 878846
Gift Aid
Are you a U.K. Taxpayer? If yes, you can participate in GIFT AID.
What does this mean?
Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further.
This means that £1 can be turned into £1.28 and £100 can be turned into £128, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn't cost you a thing.
When you visit Clevedon Pier, please complete Gift Aid forms and hand back to one of our staff or post in the box provided.
Corporate Sponsorship
We would be very interested in talking to any company that would be interested in being involved in sponsoring Clevedon Pier, either locally or nationally, big or small. This could take the form of financial support, equipment, materials, advertising and promotions or voluntary labour.
Please contact Linda Strong - Pier Manager on 01275 878846 or via enquiries@clevedonpier.com. to discuss the matter further.
